Nature-Inspired Commissions

Nature has always been the heart of my creative practice.

Whether through botanical painting, illustration, or natural dyeing, my work begins with careful observation of plants, landscapes, and the quiet stories they carry. I am inspired by the relationships between nature, culture, and memory, creating artwork that celebrates both beauty and meaning.

Each commission is thoughtfully developed in close collaboration with clients, resulting in artwork that is personal, timeless, and deeply connected to place.

Botanical Paintings & Illustration

Original watercolor, oil pastel, and mixed-media artwork inspired by flowers, plants, and gardens. I create original paintings and illustrations for private collections, books, publications, educational materials, branding, stationery, wedding invitations, textiles, commemorative gifts, and public or institutional commissions.

Selected projects and clients include the award-winning picture book My Indigo World, the Maryland Secretary of State, Two Boots Farm, Yamato Indigo, Blue Light Junction, the Natural Dye Symposium, and others.

Natural Dye & Fiber Art

Custom textile and fiber-based artworks using traditional natural dye techniques, with a focus on Korean indigo and plant-based color traditions. Welcome for small scale productions as well.

Workshops & Creative Collaborations

I partner with museums, gardens, libraries, schools, nonprofits, and cultural organizations to create engaging workshops, artist talks, and community-based projects. I also offer private workshops and creative experiences for special events, including bridal showers, birthday celebrations, team-building activities, and other private gatherings.

These services include:

1. My Indigo World Workshop: A captivating blend of book reading coupled with a hands-on natural indigo dye session. Both Kids and adult sessions available.

 

2. Art & Craft Workshop Explore your creative side through hands-on workshops inspired by Korean and other Asian artistic traditions. Activities may include hand-stitching, creating Korean paper flower lanterns, botanical watercolor painting, paper arts, and other seasonal nature-inspired craft projects. Workshops are designed for participants of all ages and can be tailored for schools, museums, libraries, community organizations, and private events.

3. Mindful Color Natural Dyeing Workshop: Immerse yourself in the world of traditional natural dyeing & printing techniques and the art of mindful mending from East Asia, alongside comtemporary dyeing practices.
